Monj Bridge (2004)
Description: Monj Hydropower plant is the part of the “Karun 4” dam major project, which is ARMAND AB is the ultimate consulting engineers and consulting engineers, is the consulting engineers for design of 2000 mm penstock. This hydropower plant has been designed to supply the required electrical power for the construction of Karun 4 dam. The length of penstock that was exposed with anchor blocks & buried was equal to 2000 m that is one of the largest penstocks in the country. The hydropower consists of hydro turbines, which are rotating by water pressure. A penstock from upstream secondary dam feed the water to the hydro power plant, and the pipeline route has an approximate length equal to 2000 m with 100 m height between dam and powerhouse. A bridge is across Monj river and is designed for access to the power station. Also, the 2000 mm penstock passed over it to the power plant It is one of the most important bridges in the project of Karun 4 Dam. This bridge Has steel plate girders which have one bay with 33-meter length & designed for truck & penstock loads.

Location: The pipeline is going to the Monj River and thus a Bridge structure shall be required to support the penstock and access road. The Penstock will be located near the main road between SHAHR KORD to IZEH cities in KHOZESTAN province.
