Nakhl Taghi Breakwater and Bolivar-Assaluyeh (2009)
Description: It is a boulevard with a 32-meter width and 2000 m length behind the breakwater in the Persian Gulf. A park is placed along this road as a coastal green area. All parts of the project involved reclaiming land from the sea, utilizing a massive embankment behind the breakwater. The geo-grid was designed to prevent any settlement of pavement in this special project case.
Type of order: Breakwaters & 30 m reclaimed land from the sea design; highway, landscape & wastewater drainage system design.

Access Road for Penstock — Karun 4 Dam, 2,500 m (2004)
Description: Monj Hydropower Plant is part of the Karun 4 Dam megaproject. ARMAND AB serves as the ultimate consulting engineer; the 2,000 mm penstock was designed by the project’s consulting engineers. The plant supplies construction power for Karun 4. The penstock alignment totals approximately 2,000 m (partially buried and partially with anchor blocks), with about 100 m of head between the secondary dam and the powerhouse. A bridge over the Monj River provides access to the station, and an access road along the penstock alignment—through mountainous terrain including tunnels—was designed. Geometric and pavement design and related infrastructures for the road were carried out by Padir Co.
Type of order: Full scope consultant services (preliminary design and reports, contract drawings and calculations, contract procedures) for road design
1. Geometric design of the access road / berm
2. Pavement design of the gravel road
3. Stormwater drainage system
4. Bridge design (one bridge)
5. Retaining wall design
6. Penstock design including saddles and anchor blocks
