Reinforced Soil in Yadegar Highway (1996–2001)
Reinforced Soil System during Construction
Description: Yadegar Imam Highway was divided into five parts, and each part was designed by consulting engineers. 5 kilometers of the highway were designed between Eyvanak and Eassar streets. This section includes 3 bridges (Sarve, Poonak Bakhtari, and Eyvanak), three interchanges, one intersection, a shallow water drainage system, lighting, geometrical and pavement design of the highway, and retaining structures. The project was inaugurated by the President of Iran in 2001. Reinforced soil was designed by Dr. Amin Ghafooripour and checked by Dr. Behnia (Professor at Tehran University). Constructed by Khak Mosallah Company with modifications, this system replaced abutments and retaining walls at the Poonak Bakhtari bridge.
Type of order: Full scope consultant services (preliminary design and reports, contract drawings and calculations, contract procedures, supervision)
1. Geometric design of the highway
2. Asphalt pavement design
3. Traffic striping and signage
4. Stormwater drainage system
5. Interchange design (ramps and loops)
6. Highway lighting design
7. Bridge design (three bridges and interchanges)
8. Reinforced soil design
9. Retaining wall design
