Invented by Dr. Amin Ghafooripour – Roller-Shock Restrained Structural Connection for free thermal expansion and restrained connection during earthquake vibrations
• Applicable to non-structural components’ anchorage design when thermal expansion and seismic design both govern the design
• Applicable for a large building at the location of the expansion joints. It will create a rigid diaphragm while the expansion joint can separate the buildings.

Invented by Dr. Amin Ghafooripour – New modules of Polystyrene Building Blocks for ICF (Insulated Concrete Forming) technology
2009
Invented by Dr. Amin Ghafooripour – Exhaust door system for missile repair workshops (designed for internal explosion)
• Applicable to any building that manufactures or repairs explosives, fireworks, military, etc. The concept saves the adjacent building in the event of an internal explosion.
Title: A new approach for the design of roof systems because of the explosion in confined explosion structures for the explosive repair/manufacturing workshops
Authors: Dr. Amin Ghafooripour, Hossein Babajanian
Abstract: A new approach for designing roof systems is proposed, considering the effects of explosions in confined spaces within explosive repair/manufacturing workshops. This paper discusses a new method for estimating the behavior and required weight of the roof for confined explosion structures. The behavior of an explosion in confined explosion structures is affected by different parameters such as reflected pressure, duration of reflected pressure, gas pressure, and duration of gas pressure. The primary purpose of these structures is to protect and ensure life safety for the other parts of the workshop during explosive repair/manufacturing workshops. The roof of this structure should fly after an explosion to decrease the gas pressure. On the other hand, this will be a weak point during an attack. In this case, these types of roofs could not resist any strike. This paper discussed a mathematical model for roof behavior. Finally, the paper shows a new method for the fabrication of these roofs without frangible behavior, considering the vent opening function. The known behavior of the roof and the designed mechanism for it could help the workshop structure to be protected by another shelter structure to prevent any strikes.

Invented by Dr. Amin Ghafooripour – VBIM (Vibration Based Inspection and Damage Detection Method for Structures using System Identification Methods)
• Applicable to any building, including tall buildings, offshore structures, or bridges.
• Applicable to residential and commercial buildings.
Full-scale vibration tests were conducted on these offshore platforms in the Persian Gulf.
