but because it’s hard.”
(President J.F. Kennedy, Rice University, 1962)
Furthermore, he has been a university professor teaching structural engineering and vibration-related courses since 1997. He was a professor at I. Azad University in Iran (1997-2011), Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh, United Kingdom/Dubai Campus) (2011-2013), Basis Independent Silicon Valley School in San Jose (2014-2017), Santa Clara University (2017-2020), and currently, he is a professor at San Jose State University in California. He is an accomplished proactive engineer with combined international experience in Structural Engineering, project management, and multidisciplinary management for Buildings, Offshore oil platforms, Bridges, and Industrial projects. His academic background has provided him with knowledge of theories to address irregular structural problems.
Dr. Ghafooripour is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Structural Engineers Association of Northern California (SEAONC), the Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC), the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI), and the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). Amin is also an ORCID-registered researcher.
He is a member of the steering committee of the SVIIF (WWW.SVIIF.Com) (Silicon Valley International Invention Festival) in the United States and closely works with IFIA (International Federation of Inventors’ Associations).
His hard work and dedication have earned him several awards and certifications for his professional design works and academic management/research from the US, UK, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, and Iran. He has been awarded Excellent Academic Management and Researcher of the Year, has patented four inventions, and has published over 112 papers.
